Last night, I had just attended the wake of Eng Yan’s father. I guess it was a relieved for him after the long battle of 7 months and the pining of his wife. I hope it would really stop at the father as it’s been 3 funerals within 1 year for her family. They have suffered enough lost. Although they are not Christians, but I strongly believe that God is there to comfort them.

Ironically, it seems that everyone would have two important events in their life. One is the wedding, where the brides especially would take in a lot of efforts. The other is the funeral where the kids would take on the effort. A lot of money has to be spent on these two events. One is a joyous occasion and the other relatively depressing for the affected family.

Traditions really run deep in terms of preparing for the funeral. I rarely had the chance to encounter such an elaborate funeral. I believe it was the Teochew style and the rituals are really long. Almost 45 minutes for just one section of it.

I was supposed to meet up with Belle at 7pm together with Edward. Guess what, she only finished at 8pm!! Aiyo!!! Oh well, at least she wasn’t scratched yesterday and that’s all that really matters. Really miss her so much and of course, I got to see the air stewardess that they were all talking about. I expected her makeup to be real thick but to my surprise, it was rather simple and un-dramatic.
